Three great reasons to grab an early bird ticket to my mid-year planning workshop (beyond the price!)
Plus: Three key takeaways from my free Finances for Freelancers workshop.

Food For Thought
I love a bargain. I mean, I really love a bargain. (Remember when I wrote about staying in the cheapest hotel room in London?) So you better believe that I love early bird pricing and I’m super keen to promote the fact that today is the last day to grab the early bird pricing for my mid-year business planning workshop on June 28. (You can grab your ticket for just $49 Cnd instead of $79 Cnd. Here’s the link.)
Sure, there’s plenty of time between now and the workshop. However, getting a cheapie ticket is just one of the perks of getting your planning day ticket early. There are three other huge advantages beyond just the price.
You’re committing to yourself. How many times have you told yourself that this is the month that you’re going to work ON your business and not just IN it? And you swear you’re gonna take that class, go to that conference, be a part of that coaching program but when the date rolls around, you’ve already filled your schedule with… stuff. Signing up for the early bird means that you have decided to block that day in your schedule and make big things happen.
You get more out of the experience. I’m thrilled when folks sign up at the last minute and sometimes a spontaneous decision is the best one. But when you sign up early, you have time to contemplate what you really want to get from the experience. Are you eager to dig deeper into finances or goal setting? Having extra time to reflect is a good thing.
You’re gonna get more bang from your conference buck. I know A LOT of you are just coming back from some major writing conferences or gearing up for the next one. Knowing that you’re committed to a big business planning experience means that you are going into a conference with business on your mind (and you can enjoy all the awesome fun side activities without those lingering thoughts of “why am I here?” and “what am I doing?”)
Three Big Takeaways From This Week’s FREE Finances for Freelancers Workshop
This week, my free Finances for Freelancers workshop SOLD OUT! It was so exciting to see so many new faces and old friends. Three big things resonated with me after the cameras stopped rolling:
As writers, we need to work hard on repurposing our content. How many times have we been to a cool event, do the write up, and happily move on? We’re leaving so much of that experience, the time and effort we took to participate, unmined and untouched. We don’t need to travel more or do more interviews to get great material to sell. We need to use what we already have.
App costs add up. The focus of the workshop was about much more than just cutting costs but there’s no denying that little expenses sure do add up in a writer’s life. Maybe we’d all be better off cutting small costs and investing in bigger, more impactful things.
Paying yourself on a regular basis is a powerful form of financial freedom. Start small and build things up. Even paying yourself $50 every two weeks, gradually increasing the amount, builds up powerful muscle memory and, before you know it, you’re giving yourself a regular salary.
Happy weekend, everyone!
Vanessa
